5 September 2020 / Introducing:

Le Social

Natural and organic wine

Le Social is an online wine shop specialising in organic and natural wine. At the moment our selection focus is on France, Spain and Italy but we also have some English wines which look and taste fantastic.

We offer a really personal service. Through the website you can contact me through Whatsapp where you can chat with me directly to get advice or ask any question that you have about wine, even if it’s not one which is stocked in our shop - it’s always great to talk about wine! The best part of my job is the feedback. Through the texts I get at 11.30 in the evening saying the bottle was fantastic, we had a great time, thank you. Knowing that people have enjoyed a good wine.

The main difference with the wine that we sell is the trust that you get in knowing exactly where your wine has come from and how it’s been made. There’s a lot of information on our website that you don’t get in shops so there’s transparency. If you buy a bottle from Le Social you know that it’s only travelled from the vineyard to our importer in London or Manchester and then to our shop. I personally deliver orders to customers across Greater Manchester on my bike, it’s a very short supply chain so there is a positive sustainability aspect. I do the deliveries for only £1 and there’s no minimum order.

In the future the plan is to start holding lots of events with the intention of creating a community of wine drinkers who like to try new flavours and want to know where their wine comes from. I’m working with a number of bars and restaurants to put the events together where I’ll pair wine with food.

The slogan of the shop is ‘wine, food and life’. In that life bracket we have some really exciting projects in the pipeline. I think the most important thing about wine is how it’s appreciated, how it’s enjoyed. We’re exploring what music is played in the background and having playlists on our website for a musical experience. I'm also looking into sustainable clothing and there is amazing things being done with wine production waste such as vegan leather. In the future Le Social will expand to be a more holistic experience than just a wine shop.
